Demand Real Transparency for Taxpayers
Taxpayers have the right to know where their money goes—in plain English, not buried in reports even accountants can’t decipher. Yet in Will County, that’s not the case.
True transparency means when the average citizens wants to find information, they can find it easily and it makes common sense. That’s the level at which we should be providing information to the public on where their money is going and what they’re getting out of it.
I will redesign the financial reports we provide to our residents so they’re clear, simple, and accessible online. I will make the treasurer’s website more user-friendly, with direct links to the most requested information instead of a maze of pages. And I will publish quarterly reports showing where every dollar is spent and how investments are performing.
The transparency I’m calling for and will deliver Will County are things that should already be in place. But just like the VAC, it’s time for new leadership who can deliver results. Government runs on your money, and you deserve to see exactly how it’s used.
